Group Therapy

L.A. Times article featuring Stefani Roscoe on the power of group therapy

Why group therapy, you ask?

The type of groups I run are known as process groups. This style is particularly powerful in that it offers the individual an opportunity to receive support, reflection, and perspectives from others. These interpersonal interactions lead to improved self-awareness, decreased feelings of loneliness, and increased trust with others. This ultimately provides greater self-acceptance, confidence, and overall life satisfaction.

What if I feel nervous or shy about sharing in group?

This is to be expected when starting group! It takes time to trust and create bonds with others and allowing group members to do so at a pace that feels manageable is how we provide care and promote growth.

Group sounds like a big commitment.

It’s true that being part of a group takes dedication. I would encourage you to ask yourself:

-What else would you be doing with that time? The time spent in group is the opportunity for growth.

-How much time are your current struggles (social anxiety, panic attacks, isolation, compulsions, etc) taking up right now?
