It can feel like having a virus, but since you’re not actually sick, an inner voice pushes you to keep going. It can rob you of your energy and enthusiasm for things you used to love doing.
Depression can create guilt on top of all of that because it can be hard to understand what you’re feeling and why it feels so heavy.
Depression manifests differently for everyone. Although some may struggle to get out of bed, others may continue to “function” but feel empty inside. Depression symptoms are not always obvious to the person feeling them or their loved ones. Having a space where you can talk about your experience freely, creates healing.
